The McKee Homes Alzheimer’s Mission includes sponsoring four North Carolina Walk’s to End Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This event is held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, with more than 500,000 participants.
The McKee family is all too familiar with the impact Alzheimer’s has on those who have the disease as well as their loved ones. In hopes that one day other families may not have to face the heartbreak by Alzheimer’s, the McKee family created the Joe McKee Memorial Alzheimer Fund to remember their beloved father and husband. In addition to supporting efforts such as the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, a percentage of every home sale by McKee Homes goes into the Joe McKee fund to support Alzheimer’s research.
The McKee Homes Alzheimer’s Mission statement is to passionately enrich the quality of life of individuals in our communities by helping the Alzheimer’s Association’s accomplish their vision, which is, A World Without Alzheimer’s.
Over the years, McKee Homes has drastically increased our Walk to End Alzheimer’s Results, but this year will be one to remember. McKee Homes was able to raise awareness for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s through virtual videos and socially distanced walks. Over the year, McKee Homes held four North Carolina walks and received 20 local sponsors across Fayetteville, Pinehurst, Wilmington and Raleigh. Team McKee and our McKee Sponsors raised $82,000 in 2020.
The McKee Homes Alzheimer’s Mission is honored to have such an amazing community who gives back. McKee Homes would like to thank our sponsors for raising awareness for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
