McKee Homes is proud to be recognized as a Gold award winner in the annual Wilmington Parade of Homes. The brand-new Promenade Bungalow Model Home nestled in The Courtyards at Mallory Retreat, a Wilmington area community located in Brunswick County, was awarded “Gold” in this year’s parade. The Model Home also received special recognition for its spacious mudroom, as well as the farm sink and tile backsplash in the chef-style kitchen.
In addition to being a Gold award winner, we are also proud to have been recognized by the Parade of Homes for two of our other coastal communities as well: Seaside Bay (Supply, NC) and New South Bridge (Bolivia, NC). These homes were awarded “Silver” in this year’s parade, as well as special recognition for the coffee nook, kitchen, and owner’s bath.
This accolade follows the company’s decision to be the first to bring the nationally acclaimed Epcon Communities portfolio of homes to the Wilmington area last year. Being recognized as a Gold award winner for one of our most popular Epcon floor plans is confirmation that this ranch-style, active-adult product is a great fit for this beautiful coastal region.
Each Epcon floorplan is thoughtfully laid out with open concept spaces, minimal steps to the outdoors, resort-style courtyards and unique, upscale features that come included in each home. A total of 46 homes participated in the 2021 Wilmington Parade of Homes from Brunswick, Pender, and New Hanover Counties, and ready for the judge’s evaluation on April 22nd, 2021. The panel of judges consisted of HBA (Home Builders Association) members from across the Wilmington-Cape Fear area who independently evaluated all aspects of the parade homes, including interiors, exteriors, kitchens, master bedrooms, floor plans, quality of materials, craftsmanship, and overall design and impression.

Chartered in 1965, the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association (WCFHBA) is an ever-growing member-firm trade organization boasting over 1,000 members. It is the largest trade association in eastern North Carolina, the second-largest HBA in the state, the eighth-largest HBA in the country, and the largest HBA east of I-95. WCFHBA serves as the voice of the building and development industries in the Cape Fear region.
