As the year is coming to an end and the Holidays are just around the corner, McKee Homes Community Embrace efforts kick into full gear. As we know, 2020 has been a year of adapting to the new normal and a substantial amount of change. McKee Homes’ focus is not only building homes but giving back to many North Carolina communities.
Throughout the years, McKee Homes has helped support a number of charities including the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and other non-profits. Around the Holidays each year, McKee Homes provides support to the KidsPeace Foster Care Agency through gifts and personalized cards donated by McKee employees.
KidsPeace is a national children’s charity that has been helping kids overcome trauma from family disasters and other crises since 1882. This organization helps thousands of abused, neglected and injured children each day through prevention and outreach programs across the country.
Part of the McKee Homes Community Embrace mission is to give hope, help and healing to children, families and communities. As in previous years, McKee Homes employees will be donating their time and money to many foster children in desperate need of love and kindness this holiday season. The sweet children at the KidsPeace Foster Care Agency have written their wishes down and hung them on an Angel Tree in the hope that someone will make their wish come true.
Like everything else this year, we have adapted to doing most tasks virtually. This year McKee homes has decided to utilize the KidsPeace Amazon Wish List in order to collect gifts for the Angel Tree. Many of the amazing employees at McKee Homes have picked one or more gifts from the children’s list to purchase. The gifts are sent to the KidsPeace office to be wrapped and delivered to each child.
We are honored to partner with the KidsPeace Foster Care Agency for another year and we can’t wait to add some holiday cheer to the community through our Community Embrace program this year with many more to come.
